Tom Bowlin has been teaching in KU’s engineering management graduate program for more than 12 years and is an adjunct faculty member for the KU School of Business. He has maintained an active consulting practice since 1989 with specializations in operations improvement and systems modeling. In addition to his current faculty appointments with KU, Dr. Bowlin has served on the adjunct faculties of both William Jewell College and Avila College, and as an assistant professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His teaching interests include mathematical optimization and simulation modeling, forecasting, statistics and innovation management.
Dr. Bowlin has consulted with an international accounting firm and directed engineering for a major healthcare organization. He earned a B.S., M.S., and PhD. in industrial engineering from the University of Missouri.
Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering; experience in consulting, research and higher education and specializing in systems design, modeling and improvement in the health care industry.
