The faculty in EMGT have hands-on business experience as consultants, entrepreneurs, investors, advisors, board members, and executives. Many currently work in engineering companies in Kansas City and Surrounding areas.

Diversity and Experience of Students

Students in KU's Engineering Management Program are practicing professionals employed by over 100 businesses, manufacturing, government or consulting firms. There are over 200 actively enrolled students in the program and approximately 500 alumni.

EMGT currently has over 30 distance students located throughout the United States and internationally.

EMGT's international students include degrees from China, Colombia, Ecuador, Ghana, India, Jordan, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, and Turkey.

Students range in age from 24 to 64

10% of the students have a Master's degree

Have undergraduate degrees in:

  • 22% in Computer Engineering and Computer Science
  • 19% in Civil Engineering
  • 18% in Electrical Engineering
  • 15% in Mechanical Engineering
  • 26% other Engineering or Science degree
